尽管"拍一部电影建一座城"的专业精神令人称道,但电影毕竟是短期项目,拍完电影后,留下的影视城也必须面对运营问题与市场挑战。2017年末,电影《妖猫传》华丽上线,5亿多票房背后,除了老生常谈的"好"与"不好"之争外,更多人的关注点投向了剧中如梦似幻的大唐极乐盛宴,而这场盛宴,就"发生"在湖北襄阳的唐城影视基地。襄阳唐城旅游发展有限公司相关负责人对《支点》记者说:"在自己家门口拍电影,襄阳市民倍感自豪。电影上映时,我们公司想包场却完全抢不到票,首映日只看到了下午场。"

Despite of this, the business mode of China Tang is going to be ticket free in the future.
