The Interpretation on the Polysemy of "Ghost" Image in Heterogeneous Cultural Environment——Take the Chinese American Literature The Woman Warrior as an Example

美国华裔作家汤亭亭的处女作《女勇士》中具有独特文化符号的"鬼"的形象极为丰富。"鬼"有中国文化内核,但在异质文化的环境下包裹了新的意义,它是对封建制度的彻底抑或不彻底的反抗,是个人与群体格格不入的飘离感。本文着手从不同角度分析《女勇士》中"鬼"这一意象,探究其多重意义和文学象征性。

The image of "ghost" with unique cultural symbols in The Woman Warrior which is the debut of Chinese American writer Tang Tingting is extremely rich.The image of"ghost"has a Chinese cultural core,but it has been wrapped up a new meaning in the context of heterogeneous culture.It refers to a complete or incomplete resistance to the feudal system,and a sense of drift that the individual is out of tune with group.This paper intends to analyze the image of"ghost"in The Woman Warrior from different angles and explores its multiple meanings and literary symbolism in this novel.
