On the Value of the Implicit-Explicit Theory

语言潜显理论是语言学的新理论。它有助于认识语言的本质 ,建立新的语言观 ;扩大语言研究的视野 ,充实语言学的理论系统 ;更新语言学的研究方法 ,提高语言学的研究品位 ;科学地揭示语言发展规律 ,预测语言走向。这种理论对语文工作也有重要意义。

This paper is a brief introduction to the implicit explicit theory that may benefit linguists in the following aspects: 1) to enhance our understanding of the nature of language so that to have a new concept of language; 2) to widen our field of vision of linguistic research to enrich the theoretical system of linguistics; 3) to renew the method and raise the quality of language study; and 4) to reveal scientifically the law and predict the future trends of language development. This theory is also of great importance to language standardization.
