With the continuous increase of economic aggregate, Hefei＇s economic status in Anhui is improving. As the second largest city of the province, Wuhu is a strong competitor to Hefei, so to correctly understand and handle the competitive and cooperative relationship between the two cities is the key to promoting regional economic growth of the province. Hefei and Wuhu are featured with the atypical dual-core structure and both of them have advantages and disadvantages in natural resources, industrial structure and spatial distribution, which is of great importance in optimizing the two cities＇ competition and cooperation, making the dual-core economic growth engine and accelerating economic development for the province.
