新时代中国特色社会主义思想作为当代中国执政党指导思想的最新表述,究其实质,属于政党意识形态,其政治功能的发挥对于中国社会改革发展的实践具有极为重要的意义。新时代中国特色社会主义思想具有五大政治功能,主要包括维护功能、引导功能、变革功能、控制功能和认同功能等。必须全面清晰地认识这五大功能,探索新时代中国特色社会主义思想政治功能发挥的有效路径,更好发挥其对于中国特色社会主义实践进程的价值引领。

The thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era is the latest expression of the guiding ideology of the ruling Party in contemporary China. In fact, its essence belongs to the ideology of the Party, whose political functions play an extremely important role in the practice of China＇s social reform and development. This paper argues that the thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era has five major political functions, including maintenance function, guiding function and transformation function, control function and identity function. We must have a clear and comprehensive understanding of these five functions and ex- plore effective paths to carry out the ideological and political functions of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, so as to make the best of its value guidance to advance the practical process of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
