产品技术复杂度与企业出口增长

Technological Sophistication and Firms' Export Growth

本文利用制造业微观企业数据实证考察了出口产品的技术复杂度对企业出口规模和出口增长的影响。研究结果表明:出口产品的技术复杂度越高,企业出口规模越小,出口增速越快;产品技术复杂度对企业出口规模的负向影响存在行业和地区差异,主要是由行业的要素密集度类型和区域的经济发展水平不同而导致的;资本技术密集度较低的行业以及经济较发达的地区,这一负向影响较小;从长期来看,出口较高技术复杂度的产品可以促进企业的出口增长,对于国际市场上长期持续存活的企业尤其如此。

Based on manufacturing firm-level data during 2002-2006, this paper empirically examines the effect of TSI（Technological sophistication Index） of each product exported by the firm on its export scale and export growth. It finds that the higher TSI of a product exported by a firm is, the smaller is the firm＇s export scale and the faster is the firm＇s export growth. What＇s more, there exist industrial and regional heterogeneity about the negative effect of TSI on firmlevel export scale, which is caused by the difference of industrial factor intensity and regional economic development. The negative effect is lager in technology intensive industries and less developed regions. Lastly, exporting more products of of high technological sophistication can promote firms＇ export growth, especially for those firms which can continue to survive in international market.
