Space has been a conspicuous subject in modern diaspora writings. The construction of ethnic identity of the diaspora group is naturally connected with the issue of space. In post-modern narrations, space has been serving as an important participant in narration to promote and build personality and ethnic identity. Attempting to study The Shawl and Rosa by American Jewish writer Ozick under the framework of Lefebvre's space theory and Third Space theory by Soja, this paper analyzes how Jewish people confront the displacement of space in urban city, how their bodily space is annihilated and their failure to seek their homeland from three corresponding levels, namely, the geographical city space, the space of homeland and the space of body in the context of globalization, aiming to provide a broader and interdisciplinary approach for academic research on Ozick and her masterpieces.
