Under a plan to send inland teachers to Xinjiang and Tibet to support local educational development, the first group of 4,000 teachers will soon leave for the two frontier regions in 2018. They are mostly middle school teachers of science, and selected from prominent schools in inland provinces. The tenure for their new positions will be around 18 months.
