摘要
《喜福会》是美国华裔女性作家谭恩美的代表作,它在美国华裔文学史上占据着重要的地位。运用社会理论家亨利·列斐伏尔和米歇儿·福柯的空间批评理论,对小说中呈现的地理空间、社会空间以及个体空间进行分析,揭示其空间背后的社会文化意义,透视生活在美国的华裔女性的生存困境,探讨华裔女性身份认同问题,并引发读者对女性这一弱势群体生存状况的思考。
The Joy Luck Club, a well-known novel which was written by Amy Tan, one of the greatest Chinese American writer. This novel plays an important role in Chinese American Literature. This paper is to analyze the geographical space, social space and individual space in the novel based on Henri Lefebve＇ s and Michel Fou- cauh＇ s Spatial Criticism to explore the deep social and cultural significance, and to reveal Chinese American women＇ s living predicament and the arduous quest for their identity. Through the analysis, the paper is to make readers understand the weak group, Chinese American women better and give them more care.
