《昭鲁水利工程志》是民国记载云南水利工程的书籍中,极具时代特色的一部志书。该书的编纂先由晚清地方志编纂者杨履乾、包鸣泉诸人组织搜集资料,再由经历实地工程的张本钧进行框架建构,并全盘编辑,而后经龙云主政的省政府秘书处审核,最终成书。该书资料翔实,对水利工程的记载十分详尽,将云南方志中记载水利的部分独立出来,专成一书,不仅具备方志编纂的文本结构特色,而且是民国云南水利志书中,完整记载水利工程并收录政府政令的书。既能从中窥见中国传统地方志编纂对后世的影响,亦能呈现民国的时代特色,是研究民国云南水利不可缺少的资料。
