“The Belt and Road”and Economic Development: Opportunities and Challenges——Take the Western Region as an example

随着经济全球化的深入发展和中国改革的全面展开,＂将改革进行到底＂到了关键时期。＂一带一路＂倡议的提出并不是偶然,而是历史的必然和现实的需要。本文通过分析认为＂一带一路＂倡议将为西部地区带来提升西部地区对外开放水平、贸易往来促进过剩产能调整和推动改善区域发展失衡格局等机遇,同时也面临政治环境欠缺和平与稳定、文化认知差异的广泛存在和项目投资收益率难以保证等挑战。

With the deepening of economic globalization and the full expansion of China ＇s reform, ＂the reform in the end＂ comes to a critical period. ＂The Belt and Road＂is not proposed accidentally, but on basis of the historical necessity and reality needs. This paper argues that the initiative will provide some opportu-nities for the Western Region, including promotion of the Western Region ＇s opening to the outside world, the adjustment of the excess capacity through trade and the improvement of imbalance of regional development. Si-multaneously, it will face many challenges which refer to the absence of peaceful and stable political envi-ronment, the widespread existence cognitive differences and the uncertainty of return ratio of project in-vestment.
