《酉阳杂俎校笺》用力最多的是笺注,许先生基本上按照逐处做注的方式,准确细致,但由于为古书做笺注本就是一件困难且麻烦的事情,再加之内容庞杂,难免会出现释词不当之处。在《酉阳杂俎校笺》前集卷六和续集卷七的注释中,发现"知回易""翕然""铤""库子"这4个词存在释义不当的问题。

The Annotation of Youyangzazu pays more attention on notes. Mr. Xu mainly makes notes one by one which are accurate. But making notes for an ancient book is difficult and the contents are heterogeneous. Therefore some explanations are not appropriate. There are four inaccurate words definition in the sixth volumes of earlier part and the seventh volumes of follow-up sequel of this book. They are “zhi huiyi, xi ran, ding, ku zi”.
