“许多”的词性与重叠形式

A Study on the Word Classes and Overlapping Forms of “Xuduo”

"许多"是数词还是形容词,不同辞书的词性标注有别。对"许多"和"多许"的来源进行比较,认为表量词"多许"之"许"表概数,来源于处所词"所";"许多"之"许"表程度,来源于指示代词"许"。"许多"的两种重叠形式与自身的词汇化程度和形容词性质有关。

There are different explanations in dictionaries on whether “xuduo” is a numeral or an adjective. The sources of “xuduo” and “duoxu” are compared. It is argued that the morpheme “xu” in “xuduo” as a numeral plays the role of an approximate numeral and the morpheme “xu” in “xuduo” indicates the degree. The two overlapping forms of “xuduo” are related to the degree of lexicalization and the nature of adjectives.
