In order to reveal people's awareness of the harmful substances in migration, and analyses safety cognitive behavior for packaging materials of vegetable oil. The migration behavior of chemicals from the common plastic(PE and PET) into oils was determined with High Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC)-Mass Spectrometry(MS); the consumers' perception and attitude about the safety of food packaging material were analyzed, including the consumers' choice and using behavior about packaging materials, based on the 742 samples. It was shown that the diffusion and migration of harmful chemicals from the plastic into vegetable oil generally exist. The consumers paid less attention to food packaging safety and it's difficult for the consumer to effectively gain relevant knowledge and information about food packaging safety. The lack of ability to identify the safety of food packaging materials leads to the ubiquity of misuse or abuse.
