Domestication and Foreignization in the Chinese-English Translation under the Background of Intercultural Communication

在跨文化交际的背景下,翻译作为不同文化间的一种交流,必然涉及语言、文化在源语和译入语间的转换,因此也是一种跨文化现象,归化和异化就成为英语翻译的两种重要策略。随着中英文化间的接触日益频繁,跨文化理论研究的不断深入,英语翻译策略的选择应当讲求多元化,进而提高英语翻译的效果。

In the context of intercultural communication,translation,as an exchange between different cultures,inevitably involves the transformation of language and culture between source language and target language,and therefore is a cultural phenomenon.Domestication and foreignization are two important strategies for English translation.With the increasing contact between Chinese and English cultures and the deepening of cross-cultural theoretical research,the choice of English translation strategies should be diversified so as to improve the effect of English translation.
