A Study on the Historic Value of a Yuanbao-shaped Stone in the Taonan Museum

洮南市博物馆藏元宝石是民国时期洮南城内兴隆洗染店的遗物,是传统染坊用于织物砑光整理的工具。民国时期,洮南城内的纺织印染手工业得到迅猛发展,兴隆洗染店正是其中一员。这块元宝石以及其所属的兴隆洗染店见证了近代民族实业的兴衰历史,是科尔沁地区重要历史名街兴隆街的重要文化组成部分。

The Yuanbao-shaped stone collected in the Taonan museum is a heritage of Xinglong dye house set up during 1920 s,which is a tool used for smoothing the cloth. During the 1920 s,the dyeing industry was booming in the city of Taonan and Xinglong dye house was one of them. As important cultural components of Xinglong Street,a famous historic street in Horgin area,the stone and Xinglong dye house reflect the history of modern Chinese national industry and the prosperity of Xinglong Street.
