清末马尾造船厂与法国合作失败考析

An Analysis of the Failure of the Second Cooperation between Fuzhou Dockyard and France at the End of Qing Dynasty

清末马尾造船厂与法国因重建造船厂进行过再次合作。其动因是1884年因马江海战遭受重创的船厂亟须修复,深层原因则在于甲午战争前后清廷海军建设方针的根本改变。合作过程充分反映了两国各自的政治、经济利益诉求。结果虽然不尽如人意,但是这段历史却值得追述和记录。

At the end of the Qing Dynasty, to rebuild the shipyard, Mawei Dockyard administration and France started their second cooperation. Due to the severe damage from Majiangsea batde in 1884 the shipyard was in urgent need of renovation. In fact, the deeproot cause lied in the f und amental change of navy construction guidelines from the Qing Dynasty administration around the Sin o - Japanese War of 1894 - 1895. Bothna-tions＊ respective political and economic demands are fully demon strated in the cooperation process. The out-come of the cooperation is far from satisfactory while this period of history is worthour recounting and recording.
