摘要
阅读在大学英语教学与学习中一直被教师和学生视为一项极其重要的内容。影响阅读理解有多方面的因素,其中一项重要因素是词汇。词汇量的多少直接影响着阅读理解水平的高低,因而,在阅读过程中如何准确理解和有效判断生词词义便至关重要,而利用语境线索推断生词词义是帮助学生在阅读过程中应对词汇问题的一个有效的、切实可行的策略。
Top priority is given to reading in college English teaching and learning. And it has been recognized that reading comprehension is affected by many factors among which vocabulary is one major factor. Students' vocabulary size is correlated with their reading comprehension. However, there may be a dozen or more unfamiliar words on each page of the reading text. Then how to work out the meaning of the unknown words becomes obviously important. One effective strategy is to help students use context to guess word meaning.
