叶圣陶在甪直的教育改革——纪念叶圣陶到甪直执教100周年

Ye Shengtao’s Educational Reform in Luzhi:In Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of Ye Shengtao’s Teaching Practices in Luzhi

1917年春，致力于从事教育改革和新文学创作的叶圣陶来到苏州水乡古镇角直，担任吴县第五高等小学教员，并把家搬到角直，开启了由小学教员发展成为文学家、教育家、编辑出版家和社会活动家的历程。在角直生活的五年半，叶圣陶在教育改革以及新文学创作等诸多领域取得了骄人的业绩，被誉为“五四”新文化运动的先行者。

In the spring of 1917,Ye Shengtao,who was engaged in the educational reform and the creation of new literature,came to the ancient water town of Luzhi in Suzhou,serving as a teacher at the Fifth Higher Primary School in the Wuxian County. He moved his home to Luzhi,starting a life of change from a primary school teacher to a writer,educator,editor,publisher,and social activist. In the five and a half years when Ye Shengtao spent in Luzhi,he made remarkable achievements in the education reform and the creation of new literature. He was thereupon known as a pioneer of the May Fourth New Culture Movement.
