It was a pleasure being part of the Production Oriented Approach （POA） Symposium at Beijing Foreign Studies University. As a teacher and researcher of writing, I am particularly happy to see an attempt to integrate language production throughout the instructional routine. As a former language learner, it resonates with my own experience of language learning in which production （primarily writing） played a central role.
