The clinical effect of total knee arthroplasty(TKA) is largely related to postoperative lower limb alignment. At present, there are many methods for correcting lower limb alignment during TKA, among which the mechanical alignment(MA) is still the most popular way worldwide. However, more and more studies have focused on the fact that MA does not completely restore the normal lower limb alignment. Kinematical alignment(KA) is a newly developed TKA alignment technique in recent years, and different results were reported in several studies. In this paper, the related researches of KA are reviewed.
