On the Figure of “The Warrior Shen Bo”

河南周口出土力士画像砖中，刻画了“申博”“奋椎”击杀“夏育”的场景结合出土实物，我们发现：与传世文献的记载不同，该画像砖中的申博，手中拿的是鼓槌。

In the pictorial bricks unearthed at Zhoukou Prefecture, Henan, the scene of so-called ＂Shen Bo beating Xia Yu （another legendary strong warrior） to death by waving his hammer＂ was depicted. By observing the unearthed object, we realized that different from the legend noted in the historical textual materials, the figure of Shen Bo in the pictorial bricks was holding drumsticks rather than hammer as weapon.
