民国新闻学术史中的张学远

Research for Xueyuan Zhang who is Relevant to the Academic History of Journalism of the Republic of China

张学远为中央政治学校新闻学系第五期学员,后赴美国明尼苏达大学深造,获新闻学硕士学位。中央政治学校期间,张学远发表了多篇新闻学文章,涉及新闻史论、新闻业务和新闻教育等领域;留美学习期间,他以"国际信息自由与新闻自由"为硕士论文选题,结合联合国成立之初相关会议文件,对国际新闻自由运动屡屡受挫的原因、当时面临的问题及未来的发展趋势作了综合考察。本文以张学远上述两个时期的新闻学著述为基本文献,尝试对其新闻学研究做出评估。我们认为,张学远在1940年代的中国新闻学术研究上是有所贡献的,特别是他对国际新闻自由运动的研究,是及时的,且具有很强的针对性。此外,有鉴于目前学界对张学远其人知之甚少,本文对他的生平经历也作了一些补充说明。

Xueyuan Zhang is one of the fifth graduates of the journalism school of the National Chengchi U- niversity. Afterwards, he went to the University of Minnesota to pursue master＇s degree in journalism. During his study in the National Chengchi University, Xueyuan Zhang published many articles on journalism, involving journalism history, news practice and journalism education and so on. And while studying in the United States, he selected the theme of ＂ the International Movements of Freedom of Information and of the Press＂ as his mas- ter dissertation. In this article, he analyzed the causes of frequent frustrations to the international freedom movement, its current problems and future trends on the basis of the relevant conference documents at the very beginning of the establishment of the United Nations. This paper tries to make an assessment of Xueyuan Zhang＇s research on journalism through his journalism works during these two periods. In our opinion, Xu- eyuan Zhang made an contribution to Chinese journalism in the 1940s, his research on the international move- ment of freedom of press in particular, which is timely and highly targeted. Besides, in view of the poor under- standing to Xueyuan Zhang in current academic circles, this paper also makes some supplements to his life expe- rience.
