整体外语教育及其核心理念 被引量:143

Foreign language education:A holistic approach

摘要 本文对我国外语教育中的"不整"现象进行了分析,提出了整体外语教育理念,认为外语教育的目标是促进学生整体发展,即通过外语教育使学生在语言能力、心智能力和人文素养三个方面全面得到提升与发展。为此,外语课程应该整体设计,以人文通识内容为依托,融合语言与思维,让学生在学习内容、获得知识、掌握语言的同时,提升思维能力和人文素养。在教学层面,应坚持"整进整出",即整体输入、整体互动、整体输出。整体外语教育理念为我国外语教育改革与发展提供了新的思路。 After an investigation into the"incompleteness"of foreign language education( FLE) in China,this paper proposes a holistic approach towards FLE. Adopting a view of a whole curriculum design,this approach aims at whole person development with whole language learning and teaching methods. Whole person development means that FLE should cultivate students' language ability( LA),thinking skills( TS) and humanistic qualities( HQ) simultaneously. Whole curriculum design demands that the foreign language education program should be content-based,while the content is largely literary,for the purpose of achieving whole person development. Whole language learning and teaching stress the importance of rich,comprehensible and complete input and complete output. It also places a strong emphasis on the use of dynamic interactive activities which help to promote both comprehension and production. The author believes that this approach provides a new direction for the FLE reform in China.
