摘要
本文报道两项实证研究,考察中国学习者英语书面产出中的结构启动是否具有累积效应以及近期语言使用经验对累积效应的影响。结果发现:1)中国学习者英语书面产出中的结构启动效应是可累积的,学习者对语法构式的接触显著影响后续产出中的使用频率;2)累积效应受启动句分布频率的显著影响,但不受时间距离的影响;3)当后续产出任务性质发生变化时,分布频率的影响依然存在。上述发现说明,结构启动本质上是隐性学习,对二语语法构式习得具有促进作用。
This study investigates the cumulative effect of structural priming in Chinese EFL learners' written production. Specifically,this study examines whether structural priming in L2 written production persists over trials and the potential effect of frequency upon the magnitude of L2 cumulative structural priming. We have conducted two experiments using the written sentence completion paradigm. Our major findings are: a) the structural priming effect in Chinese EFL learners' written production could persist in that exposure to a given construction significantly affects the use of that construction in subsequent production; b) the magnitude of cumulative priming is affected by exposure frequency but not by the temporal distribution; and c)the effect remains constant even when the nature of the subsequent production task switches. Together,these findings suggest that L2 structural priming is a kind of implicit learning which can facilitate L2 learning of grammar constructions.
