A review of international research on Black Canadian Literature

加拿大黑人文学研究是北美黑人文学研究的重要组成部分。本文围绕民族主义与跨民族主义之争阐释国外加拿大黑人文学研究进程。民族主义与跨民族主义之间的交锋是贯穿加拿大黑人文学研究的主线,前者重点关注加拿大黑人文学的历史源流和地域特性,突出加拿大黑人性的本土性;后者主张从流散视角理解加拿大黑人文学,强调加拿大黑人性对加拿大民族性的颠覆。民族主义和跨民族主义论战引领下的加拿大黑人文学研究是西方非洲流散研究学术范式转换的重要环节,它增加了吉尔罗伊提出的"黑色大西洋"概念的维度,促进了流散研究的多元发展,进一步凸显出流散群体生成和生存的历史文化语境。

The research on Black Canadian Literature is a vital part of the study on Black Literature in North America. The present thesis intends to interpret the process of the international study on Black Canadian Literature by focusing on the confrontation between nationalism and trans-nationalism. The dispute between nationalism and trans-nationalism is a major concern of the international research on Black Canadian Literature. Nationalism stresses the historical origin and regional features of Black Canadian Literature,highlighting the indigeneity of Canadian blackness,whereas trans-nationalism approaches Black Canadian Literature from the perspective of Diaspora,emphasizing Canadian blackness＇ subversion of Canadian national identity. Adding new dimensions to the notion of＂The Black Atlantic＂proposed by Gilroy,the study on Black Canadian Literature as a whole represented by the dispute is essential to the paradigmatic transformation of Diaspora Studies in the West,enhancing its multiplicity and revealing further the historical and cultural contexts that govern the production and survival of diasporic communities.
