功能对等理论视角下的《秋窗风雨夕》英语译文

On Two English Versions of Qiuchuang Fengyu Xi from the Perspective of Functional Equivalent Theory

《秋窗风雨夕》在《红楼梦》中倾诉着黛玉孤苦生命的秋天,沁透着她悲秋悲己的哀怨,预示着她香消命殒的结局。以功能对等理论为指导,运用文献研究和个案研究方法,选取戴维·霍克斯、杨宪益的两种译文,从意义、形式、读者反应对等三方面对比赏析发现霍译文更注重诗歌形美,而杨译文更好地传达了原诗重大文化信息。评析建立在翻译理论之上,摆脱了印象式翻译评论,验证了功能对等理论对诗歌翻译的指导意义。

The poemQiuchuang Fengyu Xi plays an important role in The Story of The Stone,which describes the lonely autumn of Daiyu's life,conveys the sadness of the autumn and her life,and predicts the end of her life.With functional equivalent theory,and by studying the literature and case study,two English versions of Qiuchuang Fengyu Xi translated by Daivd Hawkes and Yang Xianyi would be appreciated from 3 aspects:meaning,form and readers' response.The study found Hawks' version emphasized the form,while Yang's conveyed the meaning better.Based on the translation theory,the appreciation proved functional equivalent theory can be used in poem translation.
