On English Translation of the Nameplate of the Shanhaiguan Sea God Temple

对关于东西方海神形象、古迹铭牌英译、文化负载词的翻译以及公示语的翻译等方面的研究进行总结。从语法、语义和语用等角度对山海关海神庙的简介铭牌英译部分进行词法和句法层面的分析并重新翻译。提出译者应该加强自身文化修养,景区铭牌的翻译应富有人文关怀。

The paper summarizes the researches on the images of the Poseidon in East and West,the translation of the nameplate of historic sites,the translation of culturally loaded words and the translation of public signs.From the point of view of grammar,semantics and pragmatics,this article analyzes the lexical and syntactic aspects of the translation of the name plate of the Shanhaiguan Sea God Temple and re-translates it.It is suggested that translators should strengthen their own cultural accomplishments.The translation of scenic nameplate should be rich in humanistic concern.
