乾隆年间,江南官府、富商为迎接乾隆皇帝南巡,聘请江南文人创作迎銮戏。这些剧作以颂圣、祝寿、歌咏太平为目的,利用仙佛献瑞颂祝,反映民俗信仰;利用市井风情,展现淳朴民风;利用地方风物传说,突出地域特色,有着很浓的民俗特色。

During Qianlong Reign,local officials and rich merchant of Jiangnan region invited local literati to create emperor welcoming dramas to welcome Qianlong＇s southern tours.The aim of these traditional operas is to bless the peace of the people.Immortal and Buddha are used to show auspicious sign and reflect the folk culture.Description about life in rural areas is used to show the honorable folk custom.Also the local scenery legend is used to outstand the regional feature,which has a strong folk custom.
