Discussion on Chinese Exegetics Characteristics of Shang Han Lun Ben Yi by WEI Litong

《伤寒论本义》,清代魏荔彤所著。该书以方类证,条分缕析,字栉句比,要终原始,贯串通编,注释颇详而多有发明,是注释《伤寒论》著作中的上乘之作。通过研究,总结《伤寒论本义》的训诂特点为"深思仲景,重调篇次"、"援引《周易》,妙解伤寒"、"融汇佛道,旁参史学"、"贯通仲景,前后互参"、"广参医家,承先启后"五个方面。

Written by WEI Litong in the Qing Dynasty, Shang Han Lun Ben Yi is one of the best works among those of analysis and explanation on Shang Hart Lun. The book classifies syndromes based on medical formulas logically, by focusing on details under Chinese characters and sentences, tracing origins and references to ancient works, with annotation at length with new discoveries. This paper summarized preliminarily the Chinese exegetics characteristics of Shang Han Lun Ben Yi from five aspects including ＂Studying Zhongjing and Rearranging Chapters＂, ＂ Quoting Zhou Yi to Explain Cold Damage＂, ＂ Integrating Buddhism and Taoism by Referring to History＂, ＂Associating with Zhongjing and Modifying the New Based on the Old＂, and ＂Learning Extensively from Medical Masters and Inheriting the Past to Illuminate the Future＂.
