J.M.G. Le Clézio＇s early fiction features urban myth writing. This article explores those myths in his early works from three aspects： typology of mythological archetypes, metamorphosis of mythological elements, and reconstruction of urban mythological space. The aim is to demonstrate the interaction between his myth writing and literary imagination, and to highlight his reflection on social reality and his pursuit of truth via mythological thinking and language of myth.
