The 48^th general election of the Japanese House of Representatives took place on Oct. 22^nd, 2017. The Liberal Democratic Party continued its success in the last general election and won the majority by itself. Both the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party continued to maintain the majority of the two-thirds majority in the House of Representatives. The general election took place when Abe's powerful regime and LDP were facing an engraving governing crisis, who used the timing when the opposition parties were unprepared for the election and the public concern of North Korean nuclear weapons were deepened and successfully made to continue their administration. As result, LDP enhanced its administration, while the main opposition party, Democratic and Innovation Party, divided due to contradicting opinions. However, the election did not erase the public controversies caused by LDP policies. After the election, it is possible that a stabilized Abe administration keep ruling until 2021. Abe administration will likely speed up its plan of economic reform, make steady steps in constitutional revision, and adjust its foreign policies according to the changed international landscape.
