现代有轨电车系统作为一种中低运量的城市公共交通方式,有其自身的特点,其中有优点也有不足。从运能、运行速度、经济等方面将现代有轨电车与地铁、轻轨、快速公交系统(BRT)、常规公交系统做出比较,得出现代有轨电车的特征,归纳其在公共交通系统中的定位,从而总结出现代有轨电车的优缺点,确立适用性评价指标,为评价现代有轨电车的适用性提供依据。

The modern tram as a low-medium volume of urban public transport mode has its characteristics including the advantages and disadvantages. Compared with the metro, light rail, bus rapid transit(BRT) and normal bus transit system from the transport capacity, running speed and economy, the results show the features of the modern tram and its orientation concluded in the public transit system so as to summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the modern tram, and to define the application evaluation index, which provide the basis for evaluating the applicability of modern tram.
