Relation of social anxiety to self-focused attention and interpersonal needs in college students

摘要 目的:探讨自我关注在社交焦虑与人际需求关系中的中介效应。方法:选取467名大学生[男201名,女266名;平均年龄(21±2)岁],采用社交焦虑量表(SAS)、自我关注量表(SFAS)、人际需求问卷(INQ)进行测量,采用偏差校正的非参数百分位Bootstrap方法进行中介效应的检验。结果:女生的SFAS与INQ总分均高于男生(均P<0.01)。SAS、SFAS与INQ得分两两之间正相关(r=0.20~0.90,均P<0.01);自我关注在社交焦虑与人际需求间起完全中介效应[95%CI为(0.34,0.59)]。结论:大学生的人际需求通过自我关注作用于社交焦虑,降低自我关注水平是缓解大学生社交焦虑的重要途径。 Objective: To explore the mediating effects of self-focused attention between social anxiety and in- terpersonal needs. Methods: Totally 467 college students [ 159 males and 221 females, mean age (21 ± 2) ] were as- sessed with the Social Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self-Focused Attention Scale (SFAS) and Interpersonal Needs Ques- tionnaire ( INQ ). The bootstrap method was used to test the mediating effect. Results: The SFAS and INQ scores were higher in female students than in males (Ps 〈0. 01). The scores of SAS, SFAS, and INQ were positively cor- related each other (r = 0. 20 - 0. 90, Ps 〈 0. 01). Self-focused attention has a full mediating effect between social anxiety and interpersonal needs, and the 95% confidence interval was (0. 34, 0. 59). Conclusion: It suggests that the effect of interpersonal needs on social anxiety may be achieved through self-focused attention in college students. Reducing the level of self-focused attention may be an important way to alleviate social anxiety among college students.
