翻译类型学和《邓小平文选》的英译传播

English Translation and Dissemination of Deng's Works in the West in the Perspective of Translation Typology

《邓小平文选》是一部具有重要政治和社会意义的经典著作,不仅具有一般政治论说文的特征,也有领导人个人特色的口语化特征。这种具有明显权威型特征的政治话语,在纽马克的翻译类型学中,具有明显的表情功能。从对此类话语的分析中可以发现,以语义翻译为主、交际翻译为辅的翻译策略更容易促进《邓小平文选》的语义和信息传输,因而也更能促进中国特色的政治话语在英语国家的接受和传播。拟在纽马克的翻译类型学视角下,探论《邓小平文选》的英译问题以及这些翻译策略对于《文选》英译传播的影响。

Selected Works of Deng Xiaoping is a classical work that has political and social significance. As akind of authoritative statements, its discourse has very special expressive function. Thus a strategy mixingsemantic translation and communicative translation may contribute the acceptance and dissemination of Englishversion of Selected Works of Deng Xiaoping in the West. This paper starts from the perspective of semantictranslation and communicative translation to discuss problems in the English translation of Deng＇s Works alongwith the influence that these translation strategies exert on the dissemination of the English translation.
