Safety development is inevitable demand of people' s satisfaction and building China' s strength in transportation. Waterway transport safety is an important component of traffic and transportation safety. By rolling out supply-side structural reform in traditional major and transport safety,the main function of scientific research has been transformed from the support of water transport engineering construction to the service of the whole process of construction,management,maintenance and application,by which the achievements of scientific and technological innovation that created can provide a good support and service for safety development of waterway transport.
