The translation of movie titles plays a vital role in movie translation,because movie title is the primary means for the audience to understand foreign culture.It embodies the conversation of the two languages and cultures.Domestication and foreignization are two common translation strategies in the translation of movie titles.This paper investigates the translation of English movie titles in China from the perspective of domestication.Through the study of a large number of cases and comparative analysis,the importance of domestication in translation of English movie titles and the effect of domestication are summarized,which can guide the translation of English movie titles more effectively and improve the quality of the translation of movie titles.
