随着大学英语教学改革的逐渐深入,各高校根据国家、社会、自身办学和学生的需求开设了一系列英语后续课程,以期达到英语教学的工具性和提高人文素养的目的,而英语的工具性简单来说就是培养大学生的英语实践应用能力。本文将从培养大学生英语实践应用能力的角度入手,分析大学英语后续课程的设置和应注意的问题,阐述大学英语后续课程在培养学生实践应用能力方面的必要性和意义。

Given the fact that college English teaching in Chinahas gone through a series of deep-going revolution, follow-upEnglish courses have been set based on various needs of our na-tion, the society, the university characteristics and the students inorder to promote the students＇ English proficiency and humanityquality. This paper will set its basis to make analysis of the fol-low-up English courses and their key problems and to elaboratethe necessity and significance of the follow-up English courses inorder to improve the students＇ practical abilities of English.
