摘要
以外语学习负动机为切入点,从师生比较视角对"没有教不会的学生,只有不会教的老师"这一观点进行实证研究。发现:1)师生所提的负动机因素中学生因素权重最高,说明"没有教不会的学生"有其不妥之处;2)教师因素在受试者所提的负动机因素中分别排名第三和第二位,说明教师因素对课堂负动机有重要影响,也证明了"只有不会教的老师"说法的合理性;3)师生所提及的其它因素包括英语社会效价、教学过程及教学内容、学习环境,说明负动机不仅仅与学生和教师有关,也说明了"只有不会教的老师"的不当之处;4)师生在所提及的五类负动机因素上存在明显差异。本研究将有助于克服课堂外语学习负动机的负面影响,为英语教学改革提供有效建议。
This paper reports on a comparative study between EFL students and teachers on the claim that "There are nostudents who can't learn but teachers who can't teach" from the perspective of demotivation to learn English. It has found that:1) student-related demotivators account for the most among the factors mentioned by the students and teachers investigated, whichindicates the inappropriateness of the claim that "There are no students who can't learn"; 2) teacher-related demotivators rankthe second and the third among the ones mentioned by the students and teachers respectively, which reveals the reasonability ofthe argument that "... but teachers who can't teach"; 3) the reasonability is also justified by the finding that, in addition to thestudent- and teacher-related factors, demotivation is also associated with English social potency, teaching process and teachingcontents, and learning environment; 4) there is remarkable discrepancy in the demotivators between the students and the teachers.The results are implicative for English language teaching reform in EFL class.
