In order to meet the needs of today＇s market, college English teachers should adjust their teaching objectives soas to explore more language potentials of non-English majors and cultivate their language ability, which is the internal cause oftoday＇s college English teaching reform. On the other hand, it proves to be an insurmountable obstacle for English major studentsto accomplish interpreting tasks involving deeply specialized knowledge. Supplementing our interpreter teams is the external needthat requires us to develop some non-English major students＇ interpreting ability. So it is of significance for us to find aninterpreting ability training model appropriate for non-English majors by knowing the feasibility and starting point for them tolearn interpreting as well as analyzing the difficulties and advantages for them to learn it.
