Numerical Simulation and Process Design of Low Pressure Casting Aluminum Alloy Volute

摘要 利用ViewCast软件对铝合金蜗壳低压铸造工艺进行模拟分析,预测铸件内部出现缺陷的位置及大小。模拟结果显示,铸件厚大部位最后凝固,铸件内部出现缩松、缩孔缺陷。分析产生缺陷的原因,并提出优化方案。在铸件中间厚大部位设置直浇道和内浇道,增加对厚大部位的补缩。模拟结果显示,缺陷完全消除,实际生产的铸件能够满足使用要求。 The low pressure casting process of aluminum alloy volute was simulated by Viewcast software,and the position and size of defects in the volute were predicted.The result shows that the final solidification position is located at the thick and large part,and there exist defects such as shrinkage porosities(holes)in the volute.The origination of the defect was analyzed,and a optimization scheme was proposed by adding the sprue and ingate in the middle of the gating system to increase the feeding effect of the thick and large part.The optimized results show that the defects can be eliminated completely,meeting the production requirements.
