The Gaoling Tunnel of the newly-built Wu-Guang Passenger-oriented Railway is troubled with the problem of the leakage of water during its operation. It is highly advisable that the methods of depressurizing by drainage and blocking water by slip-casting be used for long and big tunnels. Besides,some feasible technical measures and con-struction schemes are also put forward in the paper. The paper may well serve as a useful reference for improving the anti-leak- age performance of the lining and the treatment of the leakage of water in tunnels.
