随着DVD产业的飞速发展,DVD论坛这一组织已被国内光盘行业的大多数生产商和研发人员所熟悉。它是制定和发布DVD格式标准的机构,也是DVD硬件/软件制造商、内容提供商和其他DVD光盘使用者相联系的国际性纽带和桥梁。任何加入DVD论坛的厂商都可以在这个共有的平台上相互交流,从而改进和推动DVD技术在全球范围的娱乐、家电和IT等领域的发展。

HD DVD is the only high density optical media format approved by DVD forum.Recently,Verification Policy Committee(VPC)of DVD forum has held many certification seminars of HD DVD products in order to promote HD DVD format and related testing specifications.In this paper,the organizations of DVD forum and VPC are described at first.Then the format/logo licensing and certification process of HD DVD are introduced,including the calculation method of licensing fee.The newest testing specifications of HD DVD products and the relationship between testing specifications and format books are introduced in the end.
