A Solid-State Drive(SSD) is a data storage device that uses solid-state memory to store persistent data.Compared to a Hard Disk Drive(HDD),a SSD has serious advantage in some aspects. This paper presents the definition,classification,characteristics,structure and working principle of SSD,and discusses its key technology and trend of development.The application areas of SSD are larger;thus maybe it will replace HDD in the future.
