Just less than a hour after season three of CCTV's documentary series A Bite of China aired, every last one of the over 2,000 iron cooking pots up for sale on Zhensanhuan's Tmall flagship store was sold out. Within a few days, orders numbering upwards of a few hundred thousand came pouring in. The front gate of the Zhensanhuan factory became a popular gathering spot, with some people even hopping the fence to buy pots.A worried Zhensanhuan was forced to release an urgent statement that "pots will not be sold from the factory" and if this happens again, the police will be called. After the explosion in popularity of Zhangqiu iron pots, some people left the factory to work for themselves and others began imitating the brand. Unable to bear the sudden upstart, some blacksmiths have gone into hiding.
