The year of 2018 is lunar Wu-Xu Year and commonly known as "the Year of Dog". Talking about dog in the year of dog is quite interesting. Among various creatures in the universe, dog is the closest friend as well as the most loyal and reliable companion to human beings. Dog is the earliest domesticated animal. Dog fossils have been found in caves lived by early humans, and dog remains and potteries with dog patterns were also unearthed in the excavation of Yin Dynasty ruins.Hence we can see, dog has a close relationship with human survival and development. There are several hundred of Chinese characters with a part meaning dog as well as a lot of dog-related Chinese idioms, from which we can see the love of the ancient Chinese for dog.
