The development and progress of social history is determined by social interior contradictions. In different social forms and social development stages, there are different major contradictions and minor ones. With contemporary China and world situation in mind, President Xi Jinping proposes a new statement on major contradictions in ＂New Epoch＂Chinese society, based on his profound and insightful understanding on contemporary social development rules and orientations. President Xi also considers the statement is the core content for building a ＂New Epoch＂ socialism with Chinese characteristics, which is a further enrichment and development not only for Marxism on contradiction, but also for theories of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
