地域文化是饶宗颐先生的重要研究领域,也是"饶学"的起点。续完《潮州艺文志》,是饶宗颐先生其正式登上学术舞台的标志,同时也奠定了其治学的基础。饶宗颐先生从乡邦文献和地方史地入手,不断推进潮学的开展,是潮学的重要先行者与见证者。同时,饶宗颐先生也是楚文化研究的先驱,并对吴越文化、西南文化等地域文化进行了探索。饶宗颐先生地域文化研究的经历、方法及实践是深入认识"饶学"的锁钥。

Mr.Rao Zhongyi's major studying field is regional culture study,which is also the starting point for Rao Study.Art and Literature in Chaozhou continuously written by Rao Zhongyi is the symbol for Rao's launching on the academic stage,which also laid the foundation of his study.Rao Zhongyi took the local documents and historical geography as the entry point,promoted the Chao Studies'development,and he became the pioneer and witness of Chao Study.Simultaneously,he is also the herald to study Chu Culture,and explored Wuyue Culture and Southwestern Culture,etc.Rao's experience,methodology and practice of Regional culture study is the key to recognize Rao Study.
