近代代数学传播者萧君绛

Xiao Junjiang, Transmitter of Modern Algebra in China

萧君绛(1893—1944),江西萍乡人,武汉大学数学系教授,翻译了《数论》《群论》《行列论》《近世代数学》《代数整数论》等代数著作,对近现代代数学在我国的奠基过程中有重要作用。同时他精通医术,救治了很多人,自己却积劳成疾,病逝于乐山。

Xiao Junjiang（1893—1944）, who came from Pingxiang, Jiangxi Province, was a professor of mathematics at Wuhan University. He was the translator of many books on modern Algebra including Theory of Continued Fraction, Group Theory, Abstract Algebra, Matrix Theory, Algebraic Number Theory etc.. Modern algebra was propagated in China via his translation.
