Atys, an early French opera with a prologue and five acts by Jean-Baptiste Lully, was set to a libretto by Philippe Quinault based on Ovid's Fasti(The Book of Days). Premiered on 10 January 1676 in Lully's Academie Royale de Musique, the work was presented to the Parisian public in April at the Theatre du Palais-Royal.
